MRS. NORMA K. (VEASMAN) RIDDLE


Norma Katheryn Estelle Veasman Riddle, of Dixon, was born on February 23, 1931, in Brinktown, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Veasman and Florence Veasman, and departed this life at 2:15 am on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in the Dixon Nursing Assisted Living Facilities. She reached the age of 87 years.

Norma was united in marriage to Luther Albert Riddle, and to this union, three children were born. After Luther's passing on April 11, 1988, she took over the daily operation of the Riddle Family Farm alongside her son Luther Riddle, II, where she had lived for all of her married life.  In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Ray "Bobby" Veasman on March 6, 2005.

Family, friends, and neighbors were central to her life. She devoted her life to caring for others and putting others first. In addition to being a committed housewife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she volunteered time and served on the board of directors for various organizations throughout the Dixon community including, but not limited to, Gascosage Electric Company; Dixon R-1 School Board; Dixon Manor; the American Legion; as well as serving as an election official for Pulaski County.

Norma is survived by her three children Tina (Riddle) Sterling and husband, Peter, Kansas City;  Lisa (Riddle) Price, Springfield; Luther Riddle, II and wife, Tina, Dixon; her sisters Rita (Veasman) Eichholz, Brinktown; and  Shirley (Veasman) Wodohodsky, and her husband, James, Dixon; and her six grandchildren Sierra Sterling, Austin Price, Adam Price, Tanner Riddle, Landon Kamper, and Lauryn Kamper.

Funeral services will be conducted for Norma at 11 am, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, with Father Joseph Hoi officiating.

Interment will be in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers for Norma were Tanner Riddle, Austin Price, Adam Price, Todd Eichholz, Ryan Bernard, and James Wodohodsky. Honorary pallbearers were Peter Sterling, Sam Trimbach, John Bernard, Roy Parker, and Landon Kamper.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family of Norma to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family of Norma would like to thank the Dixon Nursing Assisted Living Facilities for the care, compassion, and love they shared. They want to acknowledge the endless devotion and caregiving of her sisters Shirley and Rita, and her niece Michelle Bernard.
