Obituary

Norman Dale Knoblock, of St. Louis, formerly of Dixon, was born on March 5, 1952, at Fort Huenume, California, a son of Henry Morrison and Zola Mae (Kidder) Knoblock, and departed this life at 4:40 a.m., on Sunday morning, November 20, 2016, in the Normandy Nursing Center, St. Louis, where he had been a resident for the past two years. Norman had attained the age of 64 years, 8 months, and 15 days.

He was a member of the Dixon United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed watching basketball and reading encyclopedias. When living in Springfield, prior to moving to St. Louis, Norman had been employed as a laborer at the Sheltered Workshop in Springfield.

Those left to mourn the passing of Norman include: Two brothers, Henry (Hank) Morrison Knoblock Jr. and wife, Betsy, of Key Largo, Florida; and Richard Clay Knoblock and wife, Anna, of Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Pamella Jean Cryderman and husband, Rodney, of Bolivar; and Zola Grace Holsten and husband, Chris, of Dixon; nine nephews and nieces: Grace, Samantha, Baxter, Zack, Kyle, Ashley, Sherry, Vicky, and Brian; fifteen great-nephews and nieces; several great-great-nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry, on April 10, 1970, and his mother, Zola, on July 18, 2015.

Graveside funeral services were conducted for Norman at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Fort Leonard Wood, with interment following, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sheltered Workshop of Springfield or the Missouri Special Olympics with envelopes available at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home or in care of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
