Patrick Wayne Stefanski, of rural Dixon, was born on November 16, 1960, at Wichita, Kansas, a son of Joseph Patrick and Ida Mae (Debord) Stefanski, and departed this life at 4:56 p.m., on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at his residence in rural Maries County after suffering an apparent heart attack. He had attained the age of 59 years, 1 month, and 26 days.
Patrick was a high school graduate and had attained a college degree in structural engineering. He had also studied and been trained in culinary cuisine which prepared him for his occupation during his working life. Patrick entered into active federal service in the United States Army on January 2, 1979, at Kansas City, Missouri, and served until December 20, 1979, when he was discharged at Fort Polk, Louisiana, at the rank of Private. During his time in service, Patrick's training included his specialty of 19E10 M48-M60 A1/A3 ARM CRMN, which he worked in for eight months, as well as qualifying as a Master Marksman with the .45 CAL PISTOL.
Patrick was united in marriage on July 28, 1994, at Wichita, Kansas, to the former Mrs. Kathleen Ann (Bure) Halderman.
In addition to being a United States Army veteran, he was a member of the Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 2811 in Westphalia, and a member of the Visitation Knights of Columbus Council 13178 in Vienna. Patrick especially liked being outdoors enjoying nature, fishing for the big one, and honing his skills at woodworking.
During his twenty –five years of working life as a Chef, he became an "AWARD WINNING" Executive Chef for Marriott Hotels and the Lodge of the Four Seasons at the Lake of the Ozarks during the 1980's and 90's.
Those left to mourn the passing of Patrick, include: His wife, Kathleen Stefanski, of Vienna; his children and grandchildren, Mariah Caldwell (Buddy) and their children, Ashton, Aubrey, Madilyn, and Brenna, of Galena; Heather (Bure) Dantzler (Stefan) and their children, Emily and Stephan, of Ashland; and Monica (Halderman) Monroe (Jared) and their children, Kayden and Sophia, of Linn; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom Bure of Brinktown, Michael Bure of Vienna, David Bure of St. Louis, Gerald Bure of St. Peter's, Connie Bryan of Monroe, Louisiana, Mary Ellbraght of St. Louis, and Jean Morrison of St. Louis; nephews and nieces with greats as well; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; his mother, Ida Mae; his brother, Eric Stefanski; his father-in-law, Steven Francis Bure, on December 16, 2011; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Minnie (Kleffner) Bure, on November 24, 2008; and one step-daughter, Krystal Halderman.
Visitation for Mr. Patrick Wayne Stefanski will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2020, in the Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 37515 Highway N, Brinktown, Missouri 65443, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. in the Church with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the Celebrant.
Following the recessional from church, all in attendance are invited to the lower level of the parish hall for a luncheon reception. Disposition for Mr. Patrick Wayne Stefanski will be private for the immediate family.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Patrick Wayne Stefanski are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
