Paul Andrew Brumett, of Vienna, formerly of Rolla and Salem, was born on December 24, 1940, at Salem, in Dent County, a son of Andrew and Vesper (Merle) Brumett, and departed this life at 1:14 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016, in the Maries Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Vienna, where he had become a resident in 2015. Paul had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 75 years, 1 month and 11 days.
Paul was united in marriage to Norma Lee Curtis, and to this union, one son was born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Vesper; three brothers, Vernon Brumett, Kenneth Brumett, and Orville Brumett; and two sisters, Mae Quick and Helen Wann.
On January 12, 1962, at Salem, Paul entered into federal service in the Army of the United States and served until he was honorably discharged from Fort Leonard Wood after attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E4) and completing his military obligation. During his time in the military, he was trained by the Army Engineers as a Bridge Maintenance Specialist and was also a certified U.S. Army Sharpshooter. His military training came in handy for all of his working life as a self-employed maintenance worker, prior to his retirement.
Those left to mourn the passing of Paul include: his wife, Norma Brumett, Rolla; one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Wendy Brumett, Rolla; one granddaughter, Sarah Brumett, Rolla; and other relatives and friends.
Paul was a very talented individual in that he was a song writer and enjoyed music in general, while interacting with family, friends and neighbors, with all of these being his favorite activities.
The way Paul lived and interacted with others was the best tribute anyone could have for their life. Fond and precious memories will always be remembered in the hearts of his dear family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
