Paul Wayne Helton, of Dixon, was born December 25, 1962, at Rolla, a son of Laymond and Deanne Catherine (Green) Helton, and departed this life at 8:41 p.m., on Monday, November 26, 2018, at his residence in Dixon.  Paul had attained the age of 55 years, 11 months, and 3 days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Laymond, his mother, Deanne, and his step-father, Harvey Sheldon.

Paul was baptized in 1977 while attending the Sheppard Baptist Church near Dixon and was currently attending the United Methodist Church, Dixon.  He played softball and baseball when his health permitted and had been the official score keeper for the sports department of the Dixon R-1 School System for eighteen years prior to failing health.  Paul was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and always enjoyed watching the games.

Those left to mourn the passing of Paul include: His sister, Vickey Helton, Salem; nephew, Michael Shatwell, Springfield; niece, Michelle Wilson, Waynesville; great-nephews and niece; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Paul will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with services following at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel with the Rev. Mitch Henson, pastor of the Dixon United Methodist Church, officiating.
