Obituary

Peggy Lavice Harrison, of Dixon, was born on October 27, 1931, at Dixon, a daughter of Wayne William and Murrell Essie (Gilbert) Eads, and departed this life at 11:30 p.m., in Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. She had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 84 years, and 26 days.

Mrs. Harrison was united in marriage on August 5, 1951, at Dixon, to William Black Harrison, and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne, on December 6, 1984; her mother, Murrell, on June 24, 1993; one brother, Rev. James G. Eads, on July 20, 2012; and one brother-in-law, Terry Cain, on November 11, 2000.

Peggy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and followed him in baptism early in life. At the time of her passing she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon, and had been active in the church organizations until her health no longer permitted. She was a fifty plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Liessman-Roberts American Legion Post No. 298, Dixon. Peggy enjoyed reading, music, and needle work. She and her husband, Bill, owned and operated the Sears Store in Dixon for five years, and she was a typist for the Dixon Pilot Newspaper for fifteen years.

Those left to mourn the passing of Peggy include: her loving husband of 64 years, William B. "Bill" Harrison, of the home in Dixon; two sons, James William "J" Harrison and wife, Carrie, Kirkwood; and Paul Michael Harrison and wife, Becci, Willard; one daughter, Kathy Harman, Whitewater, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Paul Michael Harrison II, Hali Harrison, Jade Harrison, and Mollie Harrison; two great-grandchildren, Damien Eudy and Loren Harrison; two sisters-in-law, Naomi (Bauer) Eads, Independence, and Nellie (Harrison) Cain, Fulton; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2015, and from 12 noon to 1 p.m., on Saturday, November 28, 2015, with funeral services following at 1 p.m., with Rev. Bobby Williford officiating, all in the First Baptist Church, 400 West Fourth Street, Dixon.

Interment will in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
