Margaret Ann "Peggy" Heeren, was born August 6, 1942, in South Wilmington, Illinois, a daughter of LaVern Samuel and Irene Mary (Corneglio) Sorensen, and departed this at 8:05 a.m., Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016, at the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Peggy had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 73 years, 9 months and 18 days.
She was united in marriage on October 16, 1976, at Wilmington, Illinois, to Frederick Eugene Heeren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Terrence L. Sorensen.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Illinois. Peggy was a budget administrator for the Johnson and Johnson Company until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, computer games, puzzles, hunting, fishing and her family. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Peggy include: Her husband, Fred Heeren of the home near Dixon; one son, David Taylor and wife, Abla, Brookfield, Illinois; one daughter, Teresa Umfleet and husband, David, Crocker; five grandchildren, Kerry Proffitt and wife Michelle, Christopher Proffitt, Michael Umfleet, Adam Taylor, and Maya Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Krista Hendricks, and Madison Proffitt; and other relatives and friends.
