Phyllis Marlene Smith, of Columbia, formerly of Dixon, was born December 17, 1953, in Iberia, a daughter of Farris Arnold and Iris Ellen (Alexander) Dake, and departed this life at 2:56 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2021, in The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place, Columbia. She had attained the age of 67 years, 1 month, and 13 days.

Phyllis was united in marriage June 25, 1994, in Columbia, to Larry Donald Smith, Sr., who preceded his wife in death March 16, 2020.

She had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and had followed her Lord in baptism early in life and was a member of Church of Christ. Phyllis had been employed during her working life and was a devoted housewife and homemaker as well. She enjoyed yard sales, finding good deals, gardening both flower and vegetable, and animals in general especially her pet dog, Heidi. Phyllis was always the one that brought her family together, even during her illness, for special occasions, Christmas, and Thanksgiving.

Those left to mourn the passing of Phyllis include: Her son, Justin Smith, Columbia; two grandchildren, James Michael Dake; and Mary Grace Dake; three brothers, Roger Dake (Lorie), Spring City, Tennessee; Royce Dake (Cindy), Ulm, Montana; and Gail Dake, Eldon; nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her father, Farris, September 28, 2016; and her mother, Iris, April 12, 2012; and one son, James William "Jamey" Dake, on June 23, 2008

Visitation for Mrs. Phyllis Smith will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with her funeral service following in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Brendan S. Carr, Dixon Church of Christ, officiating.
