Obituary

Raymond Casper Dudenhoeffer, of Freeburg, was born on November 10, 1926, at Freeburg, a son of Peter and Margaret (Reinkemeyer) Dudenhoeffer, and departed this life at 12:35 p.m., on Thursday, June 11, 2020, in the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia. He had attained the age of 93 years, 7 months, and 1 day.

Ray was united in marriage on June 18, 1955, at Argyle, to the former Miss Viola Marie Redel, and to this union, two children were born.

Ray was a United States Army veteran and served in Germany during his military career. A man of excellent character, Ray's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.

He was a lifelong member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Paul A. Hasenbeck Memorial American Legion Post 317, both in Freeburg. During his working life, Ray had been employed by the Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg, in the Order Department for thirty-eight years prior to his retirement.

Those left to mourn the passing of Ray include: His devoted wife of sixty-five years, Viola Dudenhoeffer, of the home in Freeburg; one daughter, Dina Libbert, and husband, Loyd, of Freeburg; six grandchildren, Ryan Libbert and wife, Erica, Heather Phipps and husband, Neil, Missy Bexten and husband, Jesse, Megan Bauer, Nathan Dudenhoeffer and wife, Kristina, and Danielle Holterman and husband, Glen; nineteen great-grandchildren, Thomas, Maya, Toby, Kylie, Carter, Brayden, Isaiah, Noah, Alex, Molly, Jonah, Abigail, Alex, Ethan, Jordy, Jayce, Eli, Joella, and Cole; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Dudenhoeffer and Martha Dudenhoeffer, both of Freeburg, and Jo Dudenhoeffer of Jefferson City; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Ray Dudenhoeffer, on January 27, 2010; his father, Peter; his mother, Margaret; three brothers, Hubert Peter Dudenhoeffer on May 5, 2014, Philip Joseph Dudenhoeffer on July 11, 2015, and Ignatius "Bud" Dudenhoeffer; and one sister, Agnes Frank, and brother-in-law, Norbert Frank.

Visitation for Mr. Raymond C. Dudenhoeffer will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 15, 2020, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the Celebrant under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.

Interment, with full military honors by American Legion Post 317, will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg, by Birmingham-Martin in Vienna. Pallbearers for Ray will be Ryan Libbert, Thomas Libbert, Glen Holterman, Jayce Tobin, Eli Tobin, Jesse Bexten, Neil Phipps, and Nathan Dudenhoeffer.
