Raymond B. Helble, age 73, of Lebanon, formerly of Dixon, was born February 3, 1949, at Teaneck, New Jersey, a son of Raymond Joseph and Gloria Mae (Breeze) Helble, and passed from this life Monday, October 17, 2022, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

He was united in marriage August 14, 1999, in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna, to the former Miss Carol Jeanette Bassett.

Raymond was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna, and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.  He was accepted to attend The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, both in New York, New York, and the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York, where he chose to attend.  Raymond enjoyed composing, reading, and following religion and politics.

For most of his working life, he was a composer, and in 1990 was employed to be in charge of statistics and demographics for the New York Times Newspaper.  Raymond was employed there until 1999, when he moved to Dixon to get married and continue composing music.

Those left to celebrate the life of Mr. Raymond Helble include:  His wife, Carol, of their home in Lebanon; his brother, Joseph Carl Helble, and wife, Lisa Lynne, of Hudson, Massachusetts; his father-in-law, Charles Bassett, of Dixon; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leasa and David Day, of Dixon; his nieces, Savanna Day and Anna Helble; other relatives; and a multitude of friends worldwide.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Raymond J., on September 29, 2011; his mother, Gloria, on July 16, 1993; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Ann Bassett, on May 5, 2019.

Visitation for Mr. Raymond Helble will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, MO 65459.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Raymond Helble will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, 506 South Oak Street, Dixon, MO 65459, with the Rev. William L. Korte as the celebrant, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.

Interment for Mr. Raymond Helble will be in the Dixon Cemetery.  Pallbearers for Raymond will be David Day, Kyle Farbman, Joseph Hull, Jason Vitzthum, Jordan Vitzthum, and Greg Walker, and his honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, Savanna Day and Anna Helble

Immediately following the cemetery service, the family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them in the fellowship hall of Pisgah Baptist Church, 14446 Columbia Road, Dixon, MO 65459.
