Obituary

Raymond Isenberg "Fronie" Wyss, of Vienna, was born on July 16, 1923, in Maries County, a son of Monroe and Wilhelmine (Isenberg) Wyss, and departed this life at 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in Westphalia Hills Care Center in Westphalia. He had attained the age of 94 years, 9 months, and 1 day.

Fronie was united in marriage on June 16, 1958, at Rolla, to the former Miss Betty Joe Terry, who preceded her husband in death on April 8, 1992.

On April 26, 1946, at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, he entered into active federal service in the Army of the United States and served until May 16, 1947, when he was honorably discharged from the 725 th Ordinance Company, Camp Stoneman, California, at the rank of Corporal. During his military career, his military occupational specialty was "Welder Combination", and he had qualified as a Rifle M-1 Marksman. Fronie was awarded and entitled to wear the Army Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. A man of excellent character, Raymond's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.

Bro. Manuel Seaton had witnessed to him the plan of salvation and testified that Fronie had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. During his working life, he had been a farmer as well as being an expert welder and always said, "He could weld anything but the crack of dawn or a broken heart."

Those left to mourn the passing of Fronie include: Special nephew, Kenneth Wyss, who was like a son, and his wife, Connie, of Vienna; special great-nephews, who were like grandsons, Darrell Wyss and his wife, Gail, of Jefferson City, and Scott Wyss and his wife, Carrie, of Cape Girardeau; his great-great-nephew and niece, Joel Wyss and Raegen Wyss; his brother, Clifford Wyss, of Dixon; nephews and niece, Gary Wyss, Marshall Wyss and his wife, Cindy, and Marilyn Dawson and her husband, Pat, all of Dixon; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his father, Monroe, in 1963; his mother, Wilhelmine, in 1938; one brother, Lawrence Wyss; two sisters-in-law, Alma (Watson) Wyss and Mae (Slone) Wyss; and one nephew, Bill Wyss.
