Richard William "Cheech" Burhart, age 56, of Dixon, was born May 21, 1966, a son of Robert William and Betty (Stark) Burhart, and passed from this life Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his residence.

He was a 1984 graduate of Dixon R-1 High School. During his working life, Cheech spent many years working as an auto mechanic and later helped with home remodeling projects for Dixon area residents.  He was always willing to help others and would not hesitate to open his home to help someone in a time of need. Cheech loved children and even though he did not have any children of his own, he would sometimes dress as Santa's helper around the holidays just to see the children smile. He enjoyed music and his favorite band was "KISS".

Cheech leaves behind relatives and many friends that will always remember his big heart and contagious smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, on November 4, 2002; and his mother, Betty, on January 17, 1996.

A benefit in honor of Cheech, to help with expense of his funeral, will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Cardin's Lake, Inc., Dixon, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., which will include an auction, 50/50 raffle, bake sale, music, food, and a balloon release.

Visitation for Cheech will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Mo 65459. Honorary pallbearers for Cheech will be Donnie Alexander, Robbie Roberson, Darren Davis, Stephanie Akery, Kent Bassett, and Scott Rea.
