Richard Louis "Dick" Wieberg, of Argyle, was born on April 27, 1950, in Maries County, a son of Tobias Joseph "Toby" and Dolores Ann (Stegeman) Wieberg, and departed this life at 11:33 a.m., on Thursday, December 22, 2016, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Dick had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 26 days.
He was united in marriage on August 2, 1969, at Vienna, to the former Miss Janice Lucille Wansing, and to this union, four children were born.
Dick was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 2047, both in Argyle. He was a former member and Chief of the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department, a former member and President of the Argyle Park Board, and a former member and President of the Maries-Osage Ambulance Board. Dick had also served as Mayor of Argyle and was a former board member of the Visitation Inter-Parish School, Vienna.
During his working life, he had been employed in the position of Service Manager for the Loveall Recreational Vehicle Company, St. Louis and Columbia, for thirty-five years. Dick then established his own construction company which he operated for ten years as well as assisting his wife, Janice, in the operation of their D. and J. Grocery Store, Argyle, prior to his retirement in 2009. It goes without saying, he was a hardworking man and extremely conscientious in providing for the needs of his family and promoting the town of Argyle and the surrounding area.
Those left to mourn the passing of Dick include: His wife, Janice, of the home in Argyle; his children, Angela and Keith Hayes of Vienna, Chuck and Lisa Wieberg of Argyle, Chad and Kimberly Wieberg of Houston, Texas, and Abby and Derek Havens of Argyle; eleven grandchildren: Danielle, Lauren, Parker, Claire, Carson, Allyson, Aubrey, Claudia, Addison, Evan, and Beau; his siblings, Jim and Diane Wieberg of Jefferson City, Pat and Arnold Steinman of Argyle, Gary and Margie Wieberg of Freeburg, and Mike and Becky Wieberg of Argyle; sister-in-law, Donna Wieberg, of Argyle; nephews; nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Victoria Susan Lucille Hayes, on November 30, 1993; his father, Toby, on December 12, 1996; his mother, Dolores, on May 10, 1990; one brother, Glen Wilford Wieberg, on February 27, 2003; and one sister, Lisa Marie Sandbothe, on July 5, 2015.
