Obituary

Richard Joseph Schwartz, of Freeburg, was born on January 20, 1952, at Freeburg, in Osage County, a son of Joseph Bernard and Antonia Marie (Holterman) Schwartz, and departed this life at 5:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at his residence near Freeburg. He had attained the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 13 days.

Richard was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and a graduate of the Holy Family School, both in Freeburg, and a graduate of the Fatima High School in Westphalia. He had been a self-employed farmer for all of his working life and especially enjoyed working with the livestock.

Those left to mourn the passing of Richard include: One brother, Danny Schwartz, of Freeburg; three sisters, Darlene Falter of Freeburg, Betty Ann Luebbering of St. Thomas, and Arline Lehmen and husband, Bill, of Osage Bend; nephews; nieces; cousins; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, who was born on September 9, 1903, at Folk, and passed on August 20, 2000, at Jefferson City; his mother, Antonia, who was born on January 11, 1905, at Freeburg, and passed on February 28, 1997, at Jefferson City; and two brothers-in-law, Henry Joseph Falter on May 25, 1999, and Bob Luebbering on October 15, 2019.

Visitation for Mr. Richard Schwartz will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 9, 2019, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Richard Schwartz will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 9, 2019, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035, with the Rev. William D. Debo as the Celebrant.

Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers will be Brian Luebbering, Rick Kempker, Mike Lehmen, Logan Bax, Nathan Peters, and Gerald Nilges.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Richard Schwartz are suggested by his family for Masses or to the Holy Family School with envelopes available at the Church or in care of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
