Robert Allen "Bob" Moore of Dixon was born on December 30, 1949, at Elaine, Arkansas, a son of John Thomas and Edna Chloe (Downs) Moore. He departed this life on Friday morning, July 17, 2015, peacefully at home. Bob had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 18 days.

Bob was united in marriage on May 26, 1972, at Helena, Arkansas, to Ramona Nearns, and to this union, three sons were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Eugene Moore, on July 23, 1977; his father, John; and his mother, Edna.

He was a member of the Gasconade Baptist Church, near Dixon; a member of Arlington Masonic Lodge No. 346 A.F. and A.M.; the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, Springfield; and the Order of the Eastern Star. Bob was the founder of the Santa's Workshop in Dixon, helping families in need at Christmas time. He was a field engineer for Alltel Telephone Company, retiring after 20 years. Bob and his wife, Mona, then opened The Point Steakhouse where they worked together for fourteen years before closing because of his health. He enjoyed watching old movies - especially old westerns.

Those left to mourn the passing of Bob include: His wife of forty-three years, Mona, of the home near Dixon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Sarah Moore, St. Louis; and Joshua and Amanda Moore, Waynesville; five grandchildren, Simon Moore, Sadie Moore, Andrew Moore, Christopher Moore, and Matthew Moore; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Johnnie Chloe Perdue, South Carolina; Linda Ann and Jim Dortch, Scottsdale, Arizona; Gwendolyn and Larry Siegrist, Wichita, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.

A Masonic Service under the direction of the Arlington Masonic Lodge No. 346 A.F. and A.M., Dixon, was held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, evening, July 20, 2015, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
Funeral services were conducted for Bob at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2015, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with Rev. Lawrence Chatman officiating.

Interment was in the Gasconade Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Bob were Wilburn Hickey, Charles Johnson, Jeff O'Donnell, David DeWitt, Martin White, and Dale Saunchegrow. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren: Simon Moore, Sadie Moore, Andrew Moore, Christopher Moore, and Matthew Moore.
