Robert George Pope, of Freeburg, was born on January 15, 1963, at Jefferson City, the son of George Michael and Bernice Catherine (Strope) Pope, and departed this life at 8:02 P.M., on Wednesday evening, June 20, 2018, in the Capitol Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.  Robert had attained the age of 55 years, 5 months, and 5 days.

Robert was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and was a life-long farmer in Osage County as well as being a bus driver for Temmens Bus Company transporting students of the Osage R-3 schools.  He really enjoyed farming and especially liked spending time with his family, boating on the river, and pulling practical jokes on people around him.

Those left to mourn the passing of Robert include: His special friend, Rhonda Pope, of the home near Freeburg; his children and family, Misty Bastion and husband, Scottie, of Meta, Brittany Pope of Jefferson City, and Zachary Pope, Ryan Pope, Trevor Pope and Erika Pope, all of Freeburg; his grandchildren, Kara Bastion, Liam Pope and Aaliyah Everts; his sisters, Janet Carel and husband, Keith, of Jefferson City, Linda Herigon and husband, David, of Iberia, Nancy Schulte and husband, Stephen, of California, Carol Rackers and husband, Dale, of Wardsville, Alice Pope Fritz and husband, Michael, Atlanta, Georgia, and Sandy Hale and husband, Patrick, and Diane Pope, all of Jefferson City; nephews; nieces; great-nephews; great-nieces; other relatives; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George, on January 28, 2013; his mother, Bernice, on June 27, 2012; and a great-niece.
