Robert Joseph "Bob" White, of Dixon, was born January 18, 1955, at Tuscumbia, a son of Robert Leland and Mary Rosalyn (Golden) White, and departed this life at 8:43 p.m., on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia. Bob had attained age of 65 years, 11 months, and 28 days.
He was united in marriage on May 5, 2002, at Mokane, to Wilma Dean Litel.
He was a United States Air Force veteran and served until March 27, 1978, when he was honorably discharged at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, at the rank of Airman Basic. A man of excellent character, Bob's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country. Following his military service, he was in law enforcement in Callaway county, was employed at the Missouri Department of Corrections at the Cremer Therapeutic Community Center, Fulton, as a security officer for several years prior to his retirement in 2016. Bob was a good-natured individual, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, canoeing, skydiving, rappelling, scuba diving, and anything outside.
Those left to mourn the passing of Bob include: His wife, Wilma, of the home near Dixon; his children, Brandi Mosley, Fulton; Truly Cotten and husband, Joseph, Dixon; Robert "Robbie" White, Jr., Fulton; Jake Mosley and wife, Sara, Fulton; Christopher White and friend Kim Alonstedt, Park Hills; and Alexander White and friend, Della, Ironton; mother, Mary Rosalyn White, Eldon; brother, Leland White, Eldon; sisters, Karen Walker, and husband, Steve, Tipton; and Rhonda Stark, and husband, David, Eldon; nineteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, on October 4, 2016.
Bob's family will gather at a later occasion to reflect on his life at a service of celebration and remembrance to be announced by the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon. Fond and precious memories will always be remembered in the hearts of his dear family and all who knew and loved him.
