Ronald John Weed, of the Hayden community near Dixon, was born on August 20, 1961, at Tuscumbia in Miller County, a son of Everett Herman John and Susanna Sophie (Schaffer) Weed, and departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at his residence in Maries County. Ron had attained the age of 52 years and 18 days.
Ron was united in marriage on May 1, 1987, at Vienna, to the former Miss Tracey Louise Lewis, and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his father on July 31, 2010.
Ron was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. He had been a self-employed finish carpenter for most of his working life and had been employed by the Robert Sooter Construction Company, Rolla, for over eight years. Activities Ron especially enjoyed were fishing, hunting, wood working, and knife collecting.
Those left to mourn the passing of Ron include: His wife, Tracey, of the home in rural Dixon; one son, Travis Lee Weed, Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Amber Nicole and Chris Fennewald, Koeltztown; one granddaughter, Audra Louise Fennewald, and another grandchild anxiously anticipated in the near future; his mother, Susanna Weed, Vienna; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Randy Weed, Freeburg, Dewayne and Karen Weed, Rolla, and Leon Weed and friend, Tracy Rector, Dixon; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Sharon and Gary Sweet, Rolla, Loretta and Larry Haller, Vienna, Laverne Kampeter, Westphalia, Wanda and Donald Breeding, Vienna, Elaine and Larry Heimericks, Argyle, and Anita and Michael Steinmetz, Springfield; nephews; nieces; other relatives; and many friends.
Visitation for Ron was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Honorary pallbearers for Ron were Mike Gallagher, Joe Ray, Aaron Lewis, Terry Mathison, Hayden Deckard, and Kevin Bock.
