Rosalie "Rosie" Marie (Buschmann) Leuthen, 90, of Vienna, was born July 22, 1931, a daughter of William John and Clara Catherine (Zimmer) Buschmann, and peacefully departed this life on August 31, 2021, at her home in Vienna.
Rosie was united in marriage to Kenneth Michael Leuthen and to this union two children were born, Lisa Ann, married to Pat Jones, Vienna, and Deborah "Debbie" Marie, married to Eric Strope, St. Thomas. Rosie was a devout, life-long member of Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna. She graduated from Visitation Catholic School in 1945, and in honor of her life of good service, was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Award in 2002. During her lifetime she worked at Tilley's Restaurant, owned Rosie's Café, and worked at the Langenberg Hat Factory and the Maries County Bank. She enjoyed tending her beautiful flowers, cooking for her family, putting together puzzles and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rosie was preceded in death by her father, William "Bill," and mother, Clara; her sister, Marcie Wansing-Ready; her brothers Bernard Buschmann and Leonard Buschmann; sisters-in-law, Lillian Buschmann and Rosalee Buschmann; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Wansing, Claude Veasman and Gerald Ready.
In addition to her daughters, Rosie is survived by her six grandsons and their families: Jamie & Sarah Jones, Jay & Emily Jones and Jesse Jones, all of Vienna; Tyler & Shelby Jones of Vichy; Caleb Strope and fiancée Emily Roach of Naperville, IL; and Hunter Strope of Union. Rosie's much loved 12 great-grandchildren include Dawson Jones, Brett Welschmeyer, Clara Jones, Luke Jones, Jada Jones, Aspyn Gorman, Jaxon Gorman, Sadie Gorman, Nora Stratman, Maddie Jones, Camden Jones and Scarlett Jones. Rosie is also survived by her brothers Lawrence (Dorothy) Buschmann of Vienna and Bill (Diane) Buschmann of Taos; and sisters Berniece Veasman of Brinktown; Leona (Jerome) Schwartze, Theresa (Stan) Neuner, Mary (Dorsey) Helton, and Ann (Dennis) Bax, all of Jefferson City, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Rosalie Leuthen will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2021, in Visitation Catholic Church, 105 North Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Basil Tigga as celebrant and Deacons John Schwartze and Michael Brooks assisting.
Interment will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Grandma Rosie are her six grandsons, Jamie Jones, Jay Jones, Tyler Jones, Jesse Jones, Caleb Strope, and Hunter Strope.
Immediately following the cemetery interment ceremony, the Leuthen family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them in Koerber Hall (Knights of Columbus), 206 6 th Street, Vienna, MO 65582.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Rosalie Leuthen are suggested by her family for Masses or to Visitation Inter-Parish School with envelopes available at the church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
