Ruth Ann Miller, of Brinktown, was born on November 14, 1944, at Sikeston, a daughter of James Henry and Ruth Ann (Albright) Matthews, and departed this life at 2:54 p.m., on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis, following a brief illness. Ruth Ann had attained the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 8 days.
Ruth Ann was united in marriage on October 5, 1962, at Poplar Bluff, to James Edward Miller, Sr. She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Tommy Matthews.
Ruth Ann was baptized early in life and was a member of the Church of Christ. During her working life, she had been employed as a substitute school teacher as well as being a devoted housewife and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Miller of Brinktown; one daughter, Lee Ann (Harvey) Lee of Winfield; two sons, Jimmy (Kris) Miller of Wentzville, Grant (Renee Scott) Miller of Poplar Bluff. Her mother, Ruth Ann Matthews, State of Florida. A loving Grandmother to Douglas (Jessica) Wade, Beth Ann Lee, Kaedin Miller, Lexi Scott, Tayler Miller, and Aubrey Miller. Great Grandmother to Sean Hensley with another great grandchild anticipated. Her two brothers, Jimmy (Wendy) Matthews, State of Florida and Donald (Debbie) Matthews, State of Louisiana; one sister, Janice Riggs, State of Louisiana.
Ruth Ann's family held a visitation for relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon, on Saturday, October 26, 2013, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, and was followed by a private family interment service in the Miller Family Cemetery with Jim Parker, Vienna Church of Christ, officiating. Pallbearers for Ruth Ann were Jerry Miller, Terry Miller, Douglas Wade, Wayne Miller, Randy Bearden, Lyle Skinner, Karl Lake and Jeremy Miller.
