Samuel Howard Steward, age 47, of Freeburg, was born February 8, 1974, at Waynesville, a son of William Robert, Sr. and Anna Marie (Johnson) Steward, and passed from this life Friday, November 26, 2021, at his residence, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was a member of the Celebrate Recovery Support Group, Bland, and had accepted Christ as his Savior while attending church with members of his support group. His family living in Dixon during his school years, Sam was a graduate of the Dixon R-1 High School in 1993. He really enjoyed playing the drums to all types of music and was very talented at playing pool. Sam was so good at playing pool, he had been a member of a pool league team for some time.
During his working life, he was employed at Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg, for some years, and at the time of his passing, Sam was working at Play-Mor Trailers, Inc., near Westphalia. Through the years, he was diligent in doing his job and a hard worker.
Those left to mourn the passing of Samuel include: His loving mother, Anna Steward, of Vienna; four sisters and one brother, Glenda Mutrux of Glenwood, Iowa; Rhonda Shay of Grandview; Vickie Gertz of Richland; Donna Yarbro of Osage Beach; and William "Stretch" Steward, Jr. of Freeburg; nephews and nieces; great-nephews and great-nieces; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Steward, Sr., on April 20, 2004.
Private family services for Mr. Samuel Steward will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Maries Manor, 174 Ballpark Road, Vienna, MO 65582. The family is being assisted by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Samuel Steward are suggested by his family to help with funeral expenses with envelopes available at the Vienna Office of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home or in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
