Obituary

Sandra Jean Hollis, of rural Vienna, was born August 3, 1947, at Waynesville, a daughter of Calvin Jackson and Norma Jean (James) Feeler, and departed this life at 11:25 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Sandy had been in failing health for the past year and had attained the age of 65 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

Sandy was united in marriage on May 27, 1967, at Vienna, to Kenneth Alvin Hollis, and to this union, one daughter was born.

She was baptized at the age of twelve in the Gasconade River while attending the James Community Church near Vienna and at the time of her passing was attending the Vienna United Methodist Church. During her working life she was a clerk for the South Central Regional Stockyard, Inc. and the Maries County Livestock Association Sale Barn both at Vienna, as well as assisting her husband with the Hollis Auction Service for thirty-seven years. Sandy enjoyed needle work, college softball, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Those left to mourn the passing of Sandy include: her husband, Kenneth Hollis of the home in rural Vienna; one daughter, Andrea Sharp, rural Vienna; her parents, Jack and Norma Feeler, Vichy; one sister, Jerrilyn Snodgrass and husband, Dennis, Vichy; two special sisters-in-law, Katherine Patterson and Donna Thompson, both of Vienna; several nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Hollis at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, in the Vienna United Methodist Church, with Rev. Karen Alden, Woodlandville United Methodist, Rocheport, officiating. Interment will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, and 9 – 10 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the Vienna United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Vienna United Methodists Church or the Vienna Public Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Vienna Officer of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
