Obituary

Sandra Kay Sutton, of Vienna, was born on December 20, 1943, a daughter of Homer Lee and Zola May (Charles) Foreman, and departed this life on Sunday, March 8, 2015, in the Maries Manor Care Center, Vienna. Mrs. Sutton had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 18 days.

Mrs. Sutton was united in marriage on May 8, 1968, at Hannibal, to Gerald Lee Sutton who preceded her in death on May 18, 1994. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one stillborn child; her parents; one brother, C.W. "Dub" Foreman; and one sister, Olivia Snyder.

Mrs. Sutton had accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior at an early age and had followed her Lord in baptism. She was a member of the Farber Baptist Church, Farber, where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Union, a Sunday school teacher, sang in the church choir, and was a strong supporter of all the activities and ministries of the church. During her working life, Mrs. Sutton had been employed by the Tri County Care Center, Vandalia; the Crown Linen Laundry, Mexico; WOW Pizza, Margie's Café and Maries Manor Care Center all at Vienna, retiring in 2012.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Sutton include: One son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Christina Sutton, Vandalia; one daughter and son-in-law, Roemona and Brian Pitts, Vienna; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Darrell and Lois Foreman, Mexico; Jimmie Foreman, Rush Hill; and Irvin and Pat Foreman, Warwick, Rhoda Island; one sister, Lorenia Foreman, state of Florida; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Autumn, Katelyn, Catherine and husband, Russell, Annamarie, Gerald, and Joseph; three great-grandchildren, Rose, Daylin and Madeline; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Sutton at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015, in the Farber Baptist Church, Farber, with Rev. Glenn Forman, Friendship Baptist Church, Mexico, officiating.

Interment was in the Farber Cemetery, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Russell Reed, Brandon Wann, Roger Gaston, Brian Foreman, Gerald Carroll, and Joey Carroll. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Prior, Tom Wright, Scott Foreman, Wesley Foreman, Derek Foreman, and Johnny Brooks.
