Serene E. Sale, age 92, of Vienna, was born September 29, 1930, in Maries County, a daughter of Leslie and Elsie (James) Ham, and passed from this life Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in her home.

She was united in marriage on March 6,1949, at St. Louis, Missouri, to Milton Joseph Sale and to this union two children were born.

Serene was a devoted housewife and homemaker who loved all animals, tending to her beautiful farm. She was an avid bird watcher and never met a fishing hole she didn't like. Serene enjoyed quilting and made several quilts in her lifetime with her grandchildren at her feet.

Those left to celebrate the life of Mrs. Serene E. Sale include: her son, Ralph A. Sale and wife, Diana, of Collinsville, IL; her grandchildren, Christina Sale, Jessie Sale, and Sarah Planck; her great-grandchildren, Thaddeus A Sale-Poole, Brodie Z. Pitts, and Sophie Q. Pitts; and many other beloved family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Milton J. Sale; and her daughter, Lisa Planck.

Private inurnment will be next to her husband, Milton Sale, in the Breeding Cemetery, Freeburg, Missouri, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, Missouri.
