Shaun James Potter, of Vienna, was born on November 15, 1979, at Rolla, a son of Edward Earl and Joan Catherine (Theismann) Potter, and departed this life Monday morning, March 31, 2014, in Vienna.

Shaun had attained the age of 34 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

Shaun was united in marriage on November 5, 2010, at Vienna, to Jenny Louise Fick. He was preceded in death by one brother, Todd Potter on December 24, 1970; paternal grandfather, Theodore Potter in 1985; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Josephine Theismann.

Shaun was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, a graduate of the Visitation Inter Parish School, and a 1998 graduate of the Maries R-1 High School. He had been employed doing concrete work, building cabinets, as a diesel mechanic, and as a laborer. He enjoyed bow hunting, being outside, truck and tractor pulling, working on cars, and spending time with his nephews and nieces.

Those left to mourn the passing of Shaun include: His wife, Jenny (Fick) Potter, Vienna; one step-daughter, Jillian Fick, Vienna; his father, Sonny Potter, Vichy; his mother and step-father, Joan and Gerard Newport, Vienna; one brother, Shannon Potter and Melissa Saldana, Frisco, Texas; two sisters, Lisa Wegman and husband, Jon, Koeltztown; and Kim Lepper and husband, Mark, Jefferson City; paternal grandmother, Sarah Potter, O'Fallon, Illinois; thirteen nephews and nieces, Brett, Baylee, Madyson, Ethan, Aidyn, Austin, Ryleigh, Chris, Sadi, Aubrie, Kaleb, Arieanna, and Skylar; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Shaun was from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014, with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m., in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz, officiating.

Interment was in the Walker Cemetery, Vichy, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Honorary pallbearers for Shaun will be Brett Lepper, Baylee Lepper, Madyson Honse, Ethan Honse, Aidyn Honse, Austin Wegman, Ryleigh Wegman, Chris Garcia, Sadi Garcia, Aubrie Saldana, Kaleb Potter, and Arieanna Potter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jillian Fick Educational Fund with envelopes available at the Vienna office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
