Obituary

Sheryl Sue Hughes, of Dixon, was born on June 1, 1957, a daughter of Marion and Patricia (Aaron) Bryant, and departed this life on Wednesday morning, November 30, 2016, as a result of injuries from a vehicular accident. She had attained the age of 59 years, 5 months, and 29 days.

Sheryl was united in marriage on August 8, 1976, at Dixon, to Larry Clinton Hughes, and to this union, three children were born.

She had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized while attending the First Christian Church in Dixon. Sheryl especially enjoyed doing crafts, working puzzles, watching sports, and any activity involving her grandchildren.

During her working life, Sheryl had been employed by the Quaker Window Products Company in Freeburg for most of twenty years, and her position, at the time of her death, was in the vinyl windows production building. She not only worked out of the home, but was also a devoted housewife, loving homemaker, and a diligent wife and mother providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Sheryl include: Her husband, of over forty years, Larry Hughes, of the home near Dixon; her children, Joshua Hughes and wife, Christie, and Rachel Hughes, all of Dixon, and Gabrielle Yates and husband, B.J., of Odessa; seven grandchildren, Wyatt, Tressa, Ashley, Madison, Trevon, Austin, and Brocke; her father, Marion Bryant, of Dixon; her brothers and sisters, Patty Strickland of Rolla, Doug Bryant and wife, Bonnie, of Porter, Texas, Cameron Bryant of Dixon, Paula Gann and husband, Don, of Dixon, Wesley Bryant and wife, Lisa, of Beaufort, Kristie Keller and husband, Dave, of St. Louis, and Anthony Bryant and Travis Bryant both of Dixon.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia, on March 17, 2016.

Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery with Anthony Bryant, Cameron Bryant, Travis Bryant, Wesley Bryant, Doug Bryant, Andrew Harsch, Billie Hughes, and David Whalen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Joshua Hughes, B.J. Yates, Dave Keller, and Don Gann.
