Obituary

Shirley Sandra Wagner, age 79, of Vienna, was born July 4, 1941, at Brinktown, the daughter of Henry Frank and Flossie Margaret "Maggie" (Crider) Stratman, and passed from this life Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at her residence.

Shirley was united in marriage on March 20, 1986, at Meta, to Clifford Clarence Wagner, Sr.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at age 12 and was baptized while attending New Salem Baptist Church near Dixon. Shirley later worshiped at First Baptist Church, Vienna, at Rader United Methodist Church, Vienna, and was currently attending Vienna Christian Life Assembly. She was a member and former officer of Rainbow Chapter No.263, Order of the Eastern Star, Vienna.

During her working life, Shirley was employed by Maries R-1 School, Vienna, as a cook for many years and later by Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg, for 23 years. She then worked in the deli at G & W Foods, Vienna, before fully retiring and taking care of her grandkids, Greyson and Cameron, for 6 years. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed reading, gardening, tending her flowers, the farm life in general, horseback riding, cooking, sewing, and especially loving her family and grandkids.

Those left to celebrate the life of Shirley include: Her husband, Clifford, of the home near Vienna; her children, David (Rita) Juergens, Vienna, and Arnold (Helen) Juergens, Dixon; her step- children, Clifford (Mary) Wagner, Jr., Vienna; Denise Branch, Brinktown, and Pat (Marilyn) Dawson, Dixon; one half-sister, Sharon Veasman, St. Charles; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; 2 special great-grandkids, Greyson and Cameron; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Glenn Juergens (4-19-1964), and Terry Dean Juergens (2-25-2012); one granddaughter, Rachel Ann Juergens (12-3-2002); one great-grandson, Anthony Wayne Juergens (2-12-2007); one step-son-in-law, Marcus Dale Branch (9-19-2007); one step-great-grandson, Blake Joseph Wagner (10-16-2011); her parents, Henry and Maggie Stratman.

Visitation for Mrs. Shirley Wagner will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel with Rev. Clifford C. Wagner, Jr., Pastor of Vienna Christian Life Assembly, officiating.

Interment will be in the Rader Cemetery, near Vienna, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Mrs. Wagner will be Chad Juergens, Eric Juergens, Shawn Wagner, Brandon Branch, Martin Wells, Lucas Bax, Rick Dawson, and Josh Dawson. Her honorary pallbearers will be Angelia Otto, Amanda Clutter, Tiffany Schulte, Ashley Wiseman, Jennifer Bax, Rachel Juergens, Stacey Branch, Renee Groene, Crystal Wagner, and Nichole Hughes.

Immediately following the cemetery committal ceremony for Shirley, the Wagner family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them in the fellowship hall of Vienna Christian Life Assembly, 1111 Highway 63 North, Vienna, MO 65582, located on the lower level of the church.
