She met the love of her life and was united in marriage on April 1, 1955, at Martinsville, Indiana, to John William Williamson, Jr.
Shirley was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. She loved God and country, sitting on the front porch with the love of her life drinking coffee and watching wildlife, tending her flower and cacti gardens, antiquing, and country music.
Those left to mourn the passing of Shirley include: her children, Shirley Maddox, state of Indiana; John Williamson, III (Susan), Mary Roberts (Ruel), and Jim Williamson (Julie) all of Dixon; Debbie Roberts (John), Waynesville; and Joni Edwards-Scimemi (Lenny), Steedman; fourteen grandchildren, with great-grandchildren as well; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John on April 8, 2015; one son, Thomas Williamson at the age of thirteen; her father, Walter; her mother, Ethel; and one grandson, Travis Maddox.
Following the wishes of Shirley, the family elected cremation under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon, and will have a private service at Williamson Cemetery.
