Steven Patrick Keilty, of Vienna, was born on March 30, 1956, at St. Louis, a son of James Larkin and Dolores Antoinette (Puricelli) Keilty, and departed this life at 8:19 a.m., on Friday morning, October 2, 2015, in the SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City. Steve had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 59 years, 6 months, and 2 days.
Steve was united in marriage on October 24, 1987, at Freeburg, to the former Miss Sandra Lee Redel, and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jeffrey Keilty; and one sister, Susan Keilty.
Steve was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, where he had served in various ministries of the church. Activities he especially enjoyed included anything pertaining to cars, hunting, fishing, farming, traveling, and all events where his family and friends were involved. During his working life, Steve had been employed as a Train Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad Company, Jefferson City, for thirty years. He really liked the quiet life and living in the country.
Those left to mourn the passing of Steve include: His son, Chase Keilty, of Freeburg, and his fiancée, Natasha Kremer, of Loose Creek; his former wife, Sandy Keilty, of Freeburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Mary Keilty, of St. Louis; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Ed Schnur, of St. Louis, and Patricia and Gregory Lane, of Harrison, Indiana; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
A Prayer Service was held for Steve at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, led by Deacon Doug Hemke.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Steve at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 37515 Highway N, Brinktown, Missouri 65443, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion Makarewicz as the celebrant.
A private interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, in St. Louis. All arrangements are under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
