Obituary

Susie Ann Rush, age 70, of Fulton, formerly of Vienna, was born January 10, 1951, at Vienna, a daughter of William Leonard and Rosa Lula (Thompson) Reeves, and passed from this life Sunday, June 6, 2021, at her residence.

Growing up in Vienna, Susie had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized while attending the Vienna Assembly of God Church. She received her elementary and secondary education in Vienna and was a 1968 graduate of the Vienna High School. Following high school, Susie became a Registered Nurse, and for many years, was employed as the Director of Nursing at Riverview Nursing Center, Mokane, prior to her retirement. She was also a devoted homemaker for her family through the years, and with more time to spare after retirement, she really enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, taking care of her flowers, and gardening.

Those left to celebrate the life of Susie include: Her children, David (Sandra) Akers, Jefferson City; Elizabeth Akers, Williamsburg; Holly (Brian) Shirley, Kingdom City; and Heather Jones, Jefferson City; her siblings, Bobby Joe (Helen) Reeves, Jefferson City; Darlene (Donnie) Mengwasser, Linn; Verla Tedana, Fort Worth, Texas; Sammy Dale (Nancy) Reeves, Loose Creek; Donna (Ed) Hasley, state of North Dakota; Wayne (Sherry) Reeves, St. Elizabeth; and Monica (Dan) Lester, state of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William (7-14-1979); her mother, Lula (1-5-2008); and 2 brothers, William Junior Reeves (3-18-2011), and Leroy Reeves (1-15-2013).

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Susie Rush will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in the Little Flock Cemetery, 10218 Maries Road 332, Vienna, MO 65582, with Rev. Clifford Wagner, Jr., Vienna Christian Life Assembly, officiating under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment will follow with Tony Akers, Alex McKinzie, Johnny McKinzie, Ian Jones, Issaac Jones, and Brian Shirley serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Rush. Memorials to Little Flock Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available the day of service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
