Sylvester B. "Sonny" Steinman, of Argyle, was born on February 1, 1931, at Argyle, a son of Henry Leo and Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" (Wieberg) Steinman, and departed this life at 10:08 a.m., on Saturday morning, December 10, 2016, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Sonny had suffered a heart attack on October 29, 2016, and had been in failing health since that time. He had attained the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 9 days.

He was united in marriage on August 25, 1956, at Argyle, to the former Miss Josephine Anna Falter, and to this union, six children were born.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on March 18, 1952, at St. Louis, and served until he was honorably discharged on March 11, 1954, at San Francisco, California. During his military career, Sonny was stationed in Korea and was entitled to wear the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. A man of excellent character, Sonny's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.
