Obituary

Teresa Frances ( Falter) Kloeppel, of Jefferson City, formerly of Taos and Freeburg, was born on April 25, 1923, at Koeltztown, a daughter of Joseph Fred and Anna Josephine (Annie) (Bax) Falter, and departed this life at 6:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 21, 2013, in Heisinger Bluffs, Jefferson City. Mrs. Kloeppel had been in failing health for a short time and had attained the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 27 days.

Mrs. Kloeppel was united in marriage on November 21, 1942, at Koeltztown, to Andrew Jacob Kloeppel, who preceded his wife in death on March 18, 1976. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Forck, on March 1, 2011; her father on April 23, 1989; her mother on June 1, 1990; three brothers, Emil Frank Falter on May 30, 1932, Henry Joseph Falter on May 25, 1999, and infant John Falter, and one sister, Martha Hobbs, in 2007.

Mrs. Kloeppel was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and had attended the St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, while living there. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Paul A. Hasenbeck American Legion Post No. 317, Freeburg, for 64 years and had also been a member of the St. Ann's Quilting Club. During her working life, she was a homemaker, mother, and farmer, retiring in 1990.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Kloeppel include: Three sons, Ronald and Paralee Kloeppel, Freeburg, Kenneth and Pam Kloeppel, Port Orange, Florida, and Thomas Kloeppel, Jefferson City; three daughters, Marilyn and Leonard Kempker, Jefferson City, Shirley and Jeron Sandbothe, Jefferson City, Karen and Gordon Engle, Eldon; son-in-law, Maurice Forck, Jefferson City; four brothers, Lawrence and Lillian Falter, Koeltztown, Jerome Falter, Koeltztown, Leander and Theresa Falter, Westphalia, and Norbert and Ann Falter, Freeburg; sister-in-law, Darlene Falter, Freeburg; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held for Mrs. Kloeppel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 22, 2013, with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Boyer leading followed by an American Legion Auxiliary service with Nancy Maxwell leading, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham – Martin Funeral Homes. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, December 23, 2013, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with the Rev. Wayne Boyer, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, and the Rev. Nicholas J. Reid, Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, concelebrating the Mass.

Interment was in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Mrs. Kloeppel were Rick Kempker, Michele Fritchey, Sheila Bailey, Jasen Kloeppel, Amiee Strope, Kim Hill, and Tara Light.

Spiritual offerings for Masses are preferred by the family of Mrs. Kloeppel with envelopes available at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
