Obituary

Thelma May Korsky, age 81, of Vienna, was born February 6, 1942, Montour Falls, New York, a daughter of Eldee Jack and Ellen Louise (Hathaway) Sandford and passed from this life Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at her residence surrounded by family.

She was first united in marriage to Casper Youngs who preceded her in death. Thelma was later united in marriage on May 28, 1988, in New York State, to Wayne Arnold Korsky who also preceded her in death on October 15, 2018.

Thelma enjoyed going to church with her friends and at the time of her passing was attending the First Assembly of God Church, St. James. She loved  gardening and spent a lot of time planting and tending to her flowers. Thelma never met a stranger and was always one of the first people to welcome her new neighbors with a goodie basket. She was always thinking of others and while shopping would often find items that reminded her of someone and would surprise them with it. Thelma was a homemaker, devoted wife, and mother who loved spending time with her little dog Murphy, family, and friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Thelma include:  her three daughters, Linda Dacey (Timothy), of Erin, New York, Julie Potter, of Elmira, New York, and Kathleen Sass, Vienna; two sons, Timothy Youngs (Penny), of Vienna, and Christopher Youngs, of Rolla; sister, Ruth Crapo, of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and host of other family and friends.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her father Eldee; her mother, Ellen; two sons-in-law, James Potter and Doug Froelich; and two brothers, David Sandford at six months old and Joseph Youngs.
