On September 4, 1962, at St. Louis, Tom entered active federal service in the United States Marine Corps and served until he was honorably discharged at San Diego, California, at the rank of Private (E-1).  Tom's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of a true patriot rendering selfless service to his country.

He was united in marriage September 15, 1985, at St. Charles, to Mary Kym (Harris) Brunnert, who survives at their home in Argyle.

In addition to being a United States Marine Corps veteran, Tom was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.  He was always active in whatever was going on in Argyle as well as events in surrounding communities.

Activities Tom especially enjoyed included fishing, hunting, side-by-side vehicle rides, and get-togethers with family and friends, where he excelled with his grilling expertise for delicious food.

During his working life, Tom was a teamster truck driver for Paramount Liquor Company, St. Louis, for eighteen years.  After moving to Argyle from St. Peters in 1998, he and his wife, Kym, owned and operated Brunnert's Pub Again in Argyle for eight years.
