Obituary

Thomas Edward Kleffner, of Affton, formerly of Brinktown, was born August 18,1958, at Dixon, a son of Leo Henry, Sr. and Teresa Faye (Grempczynski) Kleffner, and departed this life Monday, May 3, 2021, at his residence. He had attained the age of 62 years, 8 months, and 16 days.

Tom grew up in the Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown, had worked on the family farm in his earlier years, and was a 1976 graduate of the Maries R-1 High School in Vienna, prior to moving to the St. Louis area where he lived for most of his life. During his working life, Tom was employed as a Machinist for Weir Minerals Lewis Pumps, St. Louis, until June of 2020 due to failing health. He was a man with a friendly personality, never really meeting a stranger, and enjoyed many activities especially socializing with friends and family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Tom include: His beloved children, Justin (Kristen) Kleffner, Joshua (Maggie) Kleffner, and Sarah (Trevor) Luetkemeyer; dearest grandchildren that called him Papa, Cole, Austin, Samuel, Emery, Josephine, Gus, and William; his girlfriend, Amy Schmidt, Meta; his dear brothers and sisters, Leo (Susan) Kleffner, Jr., Vienna; Ruth Ann (Ron) Yarbrough, Lake Ozark; Helen (Kevin) Steward, Sturgeon; Becky (Mike) Wieberg, Argyle; Mary (Clifford) Wagner, Vienna; Mike (Robin) Kleffner, Brinktown; Don (Laurie) Kleffner, Argyle; Mark (Tammy) Kleffner, Vienna; and Pat (Carrie) Kleffner, Vienna; and dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo, Sr. (3-8-2021); his mother, Faye (3-15-2013); two brothers, infant Paul Kleffner (12-23-1954), and Gary Kleffner (8-11-2003); one niece, Christina Crider (12-24-2014); and one great-nephew, Blake Wagner (10-16-2011).

Visitation for Mr. Thomas E. Kleffner will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021, and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2021, in Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 37515 Highway N, Brinktown, Missouri 65443, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Basil Tigga as the celebrant, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment for Mr. Kleffner will be in the Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown, with Shawn Wagner, Josh Sandbothe, Chris Hughes, Jake Brundick, Ethan Kleffner, and Evan Kleffner serving as his pallbearers.
