Timothy John "Tim" McNamara, age 71, of Vienna, was born November 28, 1952, in New York, a son of Laverne and Flora (Stewart) McNamara, and passed from this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Phelps Health Medical Center, Rolla.
In 1972, at Syracuse, NY, Tim entered active federal service in the United States Army and after 20 years of service, Tim retired with an "Honorable Discharge" in 1992, with the rank of Staff Sergeant (E6), at Fort Dix, New Jersey, as an Aviation Machinist Mate, at the rank of E4. A man of excellent character, Tim's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimony of selfless and faithful service to his country.
He was married in May 1998, at Vienna, Missouri, to Marjorie Ellen Coop and together they owned and operated two restaurants.
After his discharge from the United States Army, Tim continued his working career as a truck driver for Stratman Trucking, hauling cattle, and ran Margie's Café with his wife. Tim was known to be a computer geek by his family, enjoyed working on cars, and working in the yard.
Those left to celebrate the life of Tim include: his loving wife of 25 years, Marjorie, of the home near Vienna; his son, Robert McNamara of Dixon; his two daughters, Kriste Neher of Virginia Beach, Virgina, and Shannon Cummings of North Carolina; one step-son, Denver Pelc of Vienna; nine grandchildren, T.J., Mason, Alysa, Samuel, Taylor, Nathan, Spencer, Tyler, and Joseph; six siblings, Vivian Fletcher, Sharon McNamara, Dorothy Viggeano, Don McNamara, Paul McNamara, and Elizabeth Palosh; and other relatives and friends.
Tim was proceeded in death by his father, Laverne on September 7, 2010; his mother, Flora on September 6, 2007; a granddaughter, Destiny Gladden; and two brothers, Dennis McNamara and Kevin McNamara.
Visitation for Tim will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 (Noon), Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with full Military Honors to follow outside the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers for Tim will be his grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in memory of Tim are suggested by his family to the American Cancer Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
