Obituary

Viola Marie Dudenhoeffer, age 85, of Jefferson City, formerly of Freeburg, was born October 14, 1937, at Argyle, a daughter of Bernard and Marie (Steinman) Redel, and passed from this life on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at StoneBridge Villa Marie, Jefferson City.

She was united in marriage on June 18, 1955, at Argyle, to Raymond Casper Dudenhoeffer, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2020.

Viola was a lifelong member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Paul A. Hasenbeck Memorial American Legion Auxiliary Post 317, both in Freeburg. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, her flower garden, fishing, being outdoors, and bowling.

During her working life, Viola had been employed by the Overman Pants Factory, Quaker Window Products Company, as a screen roller, the Department of Revenue, in the records department, Mr. Jack's, as a part-time waitress, and Holy Family Catholic School, as a cook.

Those left to mourn the passing of Viola include: her daughter, Dina Libbert, and husband, Loyd, Freeburg; daughter-in-law, Starla Dudenhoeffer, Vienna; six grandchildren, Ryan Libbert and wife, Erica, Heather Phipps and husband, Neil, Missy Bexten and husband, Jesse, Megan Bauer, Nathan Dudenhoeffer and wife, Kristina, and Danielle Holterman and husband, Glen; nineteen great-grandchildren, Thomas, Maya, Toby, Kylie, Carter, Brayden, Isaiah, Noah, Alex, Molly, Jonah, Abigail, Alyx, Ethan, Jordy, Jayce, Eli, Joella, and Cole; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Ray Dudenhoeffer, on January 27, 2010; her father, Bernard, on August 22, 1980; her mother, Marie, on April 27, 1984; her siblings, Ann Ruckman, Bernita "Blacky" Lock, Oscar Redel, Vick Redel, Vince Redel, and Janie Davis.

Visitation for Mrs. Viola M. Dudenhoeffer will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 12, 2023, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035, with her Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with the Rev. William D. Debo as the Celebrant, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment will be beside her loving husband in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg. Pallbearers for Viola will be Ryan Libbert, Neil Phipps, Jesse Bexten, Glen Holterman, Jayce Tobin, and Eli Tobin. Honorary pallbearers for Viola will be Thomas Libbert, Carter Phipps, Isaiah Bexten, Nathan Dudenhoeffer, Ethan Dudenhoeffer, and Jordy Dudenhoeffer.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Viola M. Dudenhoeffer are suggested by her family to the Holy Family School Building Fund with envelopes available at the church the day of the service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
