Obituary

Viola H. Renneke, of Argyle, was born on August 25, 1945, at Argyle, a daughter of Martin Joseph and Gertrude Marie (Wekenborg) Rennke, and departed this life at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, in the SSM St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City. Viola had attained the age of 71, years, 2 months, and 3 days.

Viola was preceded in death by her father, Martin on December 10, 1971; her mother, Gertrude on May 3, 1994; one brother, Leroy Renneke on June 21, 1988 and one sister-in-law, Erma Renneke on September 2, 2015.

Viola was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle and a 1963 graduate of the Maries R-1 High School, Vienna. She was employed by the state of Missouri in the Workman's Compensation Department, AAA Insurance Company, and then she worked in Customer Service for Sprint-Embarq Telephone Company, retiring after 40 years. Viola enjoyed cooking, baking for her family, traveling, fishing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Mizzou Tigers. But most of all she enjoyed being on the "Century" family farm raising polled Hereford cattle and playing with her little dog, Chloe.

Those left to mourn the passing of Viola include: two brothers: Anthony Renneke, Argyle and Sylvester (Doris) Renneke, Topeka, Kansas; two sisters, Hermania (Paul) Gilbert, Holt's Summit and Barbara Renneke, Argyle; one nephew, Richard (Angela) Renneke, Los Alamos, New Mexico; three nieces, Jeanette Renneke, Wichita, Kansas; Christina (Jeff) Yeung, Omaha, Nebraska; Rebecca (Jason) Saunders, Olathe, Kansas; and three great-nieces, Zoey, Jada and Raven Saunders, all of Olathe, Kansas.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016 and from 9 – 10 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2016, all in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2016, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, with the Rev. James Finder as the celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.

Masses or memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.
