Obituary

Viola Lucille Wieberg, of Freeburg, was born on August 12, 1945, at Freeburg, a daughter of Henry Anton and Katherine Elizabeth (Linnenbrink) Schulte, and departed this life at 4:20 a.m., on Thursday, October 8, 2020, in StoneBridge Westphalia. She had attained the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 27 days.

Viola was united in marriage on June 6, 1964, at Freeburg, to Joseph Frank "Joe" Wieberg, and to this union, five children were born.

Viola was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg, and she enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing, the game of Yahtzee, watching Cardinal Baseball, going to the boat, and baby sitting part time. During her working life, Viola had been employed by Quaker Window Products Company in Freeburg for twenty-seven years followed by her employment of twenty-one years at Scholastic, Inc. in Jefferson City prior to her retirement in 2010.

Those left to mourn the passing of Viola include: Her five children, Kevin Wieberg of Freeburg, Laurie Steinman and husband, Andy, of Forest, Virginia, Chris Wieberg and wife, Bonnie, of Koeltztown, Leslie Wieberg of Freeburg, and Ashley Walker and husband, Eric, of Jefferson City; three sisters, Mary Jane Schulte and Bernice Stratman, both of Jefferson City, and Florentine Koerber of St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Georgia Schulte, of St. Louis; nine granddaughters; nephews, nieces, with greats as well; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, on May 27, 2017; her father, Henry, on July 25, 1993; her mother, Katie, on Mary 24, 1983; one sister, Dorothy Viessman on January 6, 2005; one brother, Eugene Schulte on April 30, 2020; four brothers-in-law, Paul Stratman, Donald Viessman, Ed Schulte, and Francis Koerber; and her pet dog, "Sassy".

Visitation for Mrs. Viola Lucille Wieberg was held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 12, 2020, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the church with the Rev. William D. Debo as the celebrant.

Interment was next to her beloved husband, Joe, of almost fifty-three years in the Holy Family Cemetery in Freeburg under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers for Viola were Paul Schulte, Mark Schulte, Greg Viessman, Mike Viessman, Kenneth Koerber, Eddie Schulte, Paul Stratman, Jason Stratman, Kevin Moore, and Patrick Storey.

The Wieberg family invites all in attendance to share a meal with them on the lower level of the American Legion Hall in Freeburg following the cemetery service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Viola Lucille Wieberg are suggested to the Holy Family School with envelopes available at the church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
