Virginia Mae Martin, age 94, of the Hayden Community, was born February 27, 1930, in Venable, Texas County, Missouri, a daughter of Charles T. and Amanda A. (Friend) Venable, and passed from this life Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in her home.
She was united in marriage on December 23, 1982, in Rolla, to Donley David Martin, who preceded her in death on November 10, 2020.
Virginia was a loving housewife and mother who enjoyed working until her health no longer permitted, retiring from Presbyterian Manor, Rolla, as a Dietary Aide in 2018. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and her cats, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Virginia include: her son, Russell Caton and wife, Shelley of Rolla; her daughter, Melodia Crum and husband, Mike of Battlefield; grandson, Joey Crum and friend, Stacey Massey of Springfield; grandson, Justin Crum and wife, Katie of the Hayden Community; two great-grandchildren, Brodee Crum and Baylee Crum; one brother, Charles Venable of Houston; two sisters, Mary Ellen Higashi of Success, and Sharon Kaye Heffley and husband, Ken of Redding, California; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, and especially her kind and loving neighbors.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her father, Charley on May 13, 1984; her mother, Mandy on December 25, 2002; an infant brother, Roy Dean Venable; and two sisters, Hazel Bernice Pridgen, and Francis Hein.
Visitation for Mrs. Virgina Martin will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., in the Kenner Church of God, 17996 Maries Road 505, Dixon, MO 65459, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.
Inurnment for Mrs. Virgina Martin will be with her loving husband of 38 years in the Kenner Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers for Mrs. Virginia Martin will be Joey Crum, Justin Crum, Brodee Crum, and Baylee Crum.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Virgina Martin are suggested by her family to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the church the day of her service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
