Obituary

Wanda Nell "Nellie" Sandbothe, age 87, of Rocky Mount, was born January 13, 1937, a daughter of William Charles and Myrtle Leona (Basford) Parker, and passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, December 1, 2024, in her home.

She was married October 4, 1958, in St. Charles to Louis Anthony "Louie" Sandbothe, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2019.

Nellie was baptized early in life and was a member of the Church of Christ in both Vienna and Eldon. She was a devoted housewife, homemaker, mother, and caretaker for her daughter, Robin. Nellie enjoyed caring for her family, quilting, cooking, but most of all she was proud of her grandchildren and being able to hold her first great-grandchild.

Those left to mourn the passing of Nellie include: her children, Scott Sandbothe of Goodyear, Arizona, Steve Sandbothe (Lisa) of Ballwin, Mark Sandbothe (Gabrielle) of Gerald, Mike Sandbothe (Teri) of Greenwood, Lori Gish (Randy) of Blue Springs, and Lisa Braun (Donald) of Overland Park, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild with one on the way in December 2024; her brother, Jim Parker (Micky) of Vienna;  nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Nellie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Louie; daughter, Robin Sandbothe on September 5, 2023; one grandchild, Trey Braun August 8, 2003; her father, William on August 26, 1973; her mother, Myrtle on May 22, 1988; and five siblings, Ruth Parker Poor on January 1, 2023; Louise Roberson on October 10, 2002, Billie Havens on May 12, 2007; Terry Parker on January 1, 2012, Joy Chambers on April 4, 2023.

Visitation for Nellie Sandbothe will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon, on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the Church of Christ, 914 Highway 63 N, Vienna, MO 65582, with her funeral service following at 12 Noon in the church under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment will be beside her beloved husband in the Visitation Cemetery, Vienna. Pallbearers for Nellie will be Jacob Sandbothe, Brock Sandbothe, Garrett Sandbothe, Parker Braun, Christian Braun, Landon Braun, and Owen Gish. Honorary pallbearers for Nellie will be Ben Crider, Ryan McFarland, and Greg Brundage.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Nellie Sandbothe are suggested by her family to the Church of Christ or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, with envelopes available at the church the day of the service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
