Obituary

Wayne Douglas Boeckman, age 58, of Vienna, was born July 25, 1964, at Jefferson City, a son of David Peter and Esther Barbara (Thessen) Boeckman, and passed from this life Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his residence near Vienna.

He was a 1982 graduate of Blair Oaks High School, Wardsville.  On August 7, 1986, at St. Louis, Wayne entered active federal service in the United States Army and served until January 31, 1992, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Riley, Kansas, at the rank of Specialist Fourth Class (E-4).  During his military career, Wayne received training in his primary specialty as a Motor Transport Operator and was also trained in Primary Leadership Development.  He was awarded and entitled to wear the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Achievement Medal, and other awards and citations.

He was united in marriage August 27, 2016, in Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, to Patricia Ann (Hoffman) Boeckman, who survives.

At the time of his passing, Wayne was employed at Hilke's Ice Company in Freeburg as a Delivery Driver.  He was a member of  Visitation Catholic Church, Visitation Knights of Columbus Council 13178; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Vienna-Bassett Aerie 4340, all in Vienna, and the Mid Missouri Truck & Tractor Pulling Association in Jefferson City. Wayne was always active in the Vienna community and had served as President of the Maries County Fair Board for a number of years.  He enjoyed playing cards, farming, his cattle, and all things tractor pulling.

In addition to his wife, others left to celebrate the life of Wayne include: One son, Daren Boeckman, and wife, Brianna, of  Neosho; one daughter, Regina (Boeckman) Kemna, of St. Elizabeth; two step-sons, Trace Clark and fianceé, Brittany Long, of Vienna, and Brandon Toebben and wife, Kim, of Cuba; one step-daughter, Brittany Kammerich, and husband, Jeff, of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Brody, Josie, and Emberlee; one step-grandchild, Alaina; two brothers, Randy Boeckman and wife, Julie, of Wardsville, and Scott Boeckman of  Loose Creek; one sister, Peggy Neubert, and husband, Kenny, of  Vienna; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Hoffman and wife, Erica, of Meta; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Hoffman and fiancé, Kevin Kelley, of Vienna, and Tonia Hoffman and fiancé, Harley Elkins, of Clinton, North Carolina; dear close personal friend, Delberta Kaley, Rolla; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, David, on January 30, 2018; his mother, Esther, on March 28, 2018; and one sister, Susan Marie Mertens, on May 14, 1999.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Wayne Boeckman will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon, Thursday, September 29, 2022, in the Knights of Columbus Koerber HaH    Hall, 206 6 th Street, Vienna, MO 65582, by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.  Military Honors will be rendered for Wayne at 11:30 a.m. outside in front of the KC Hall.  All in attendance are invited to a meal in the KC Hall following the Military Honors.
