Wayne Paul
Feeler
Dec 10, 1934 — Apr 29, 2021
Wayne Paul Feeler, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Vienna, was born December 10, 1934, in Maries County, a son of Theodore Tilghman "Ted" and Effie Leona (Hayes) Feeler, and departed this life Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Myrtle Beach. He had attained the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 19 days.
On June 15, 1953, at St. Louis, Mr. Feeler entered active federal service in the United States Navy and served until May 23, 1957, when he was honorably discharged from active duty at the rank of Aircraft Mechanic 3 (AM3). After his initial naval basic training, Mr. Feeler was trained in Aircraft Maintenance as his specialty, and upon completing his training, he became a Certified Aircraft Mechanic. Wayne was awarded and entitled to wear the U.S. Defense Service Medal as well as receiving various other certificates and awards for his service. A man of excellent character, Mr. Feeler's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.
Wayne was a graduate of the Vienna High School, and during his high school years, he excelled at playing baseball. People have often said, "Wayne was the best baseball player at VHS.", however his brother, Pat, disagreed (really, would Pat do that?) since they both liked the game so much. In addition to playing ball, two other activities he really enjoyed were hunting and fishing.
During his working life, Wayne's career had taken him all over the United States and overseas. He was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation, St. Louis, and was the person in charge of Flight Training at the time of his retirement in 1993. After President Bill Clinton took office, he said about his retiring, "I'm done! President Clinton cut the defense budget, and I'm not working for less than before the budget cut." Wayne worked for the Chevy Corporation for a time before fully retiring and just enjoying life.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Feeler include: His companion and wife of thirty-two years, Wynn, of the home, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two sons, Thomas Patrick Feeler (companion Angela Dawn Pippin), Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Matthew Pierceall, Waldorf, Maryland; his granddaughter, Audrey Lynn Feeler; his two sisters, Anna Lee Baker (Jim), Tucson, Arizona, and Jackie Keaton (Larry), Licking, MO; sister-in-law, Norma Feeler, Vienna, MO; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.
