Wayne Arnold
Korsky
Apr 19, 1946 — Oct 15, 2018
Wayne Arnold Korsky, of Vichy, was born on April 19, 1946, at Reed City, Michigan, the son of Arnold and Emily (Michalic) Korsky, and departed this life at 6:15 p.m., on Monday evening, October 15, 2018, at his residence. He had attained the age of 72 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
Wayne was united in marriage on May 28, 1988, in the state of New York, to the former Thelma May Sanford, who survives at the home near Vichy.
He entered into active federal service in the Navy of the United States and served honorably until he was discharged. Wayne's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country during the era of the Vietnam Conflict.
He had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, had followed his Lord in baptism in 1982, and had been currently attending the St. James Assembly of God Church in St. James. During his working life, Wayne had been a truck driver for thirty-two years, prior to his retirement in 2014, with his last employment being a driver for RBX Transport out of Springfield, Missouri. One of his favorite activities during his retirement was being out in the woods and cutting timber as well as being a collector of what most people would call "junk" and having an extensive collection. He also had an interest in Solar Power and various mechanisms powered by the solar rays from the sun.
Along with his devoted wife, Thelma, of almost thirty-one years, others left to mourn the passing of Wayne include: His children, Catherine Korsky, Seattle, Washington, Kristine Klien, Rochester, New York, Brian Korsky (Lowella), Elmira, New York, Matthew Korsky (Lauren), New York City, New York; his step-children, Kathleen Sass, Elmira, New York, Linda Dacey (Timothy), Erin, New York, Julie Potter, Elmira, New York, Timothy Youngs (Penny), Vienna, and Christopher Youngs, Bowling Green; his sister, Elsie Wall, state of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold, and his mother, Emily.
Visitation for Mr. Wayne A. Korsky will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 20, 2018, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, Missouri 65582, with his funeral service following in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
A private disposition will be held for Wayne by his family, on their property near Vichy, at a place he called "Memory Lane", and as the words of one song used at his funeral service, we can say, "Go Rest High On That Mountain", dear one. Honorary pallbearers for Wayne will be Brian Korsky, Matthew Korsky, Timothy Youngs, Christopher Youngs, Brandon Youngs, Tyler Potter, Jeff Dacey, Dusty Foster, Glen Smith, Jay Johnston, and Douglas Acree.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Wayne A. Korsky are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
