Obituary

William Joseph Brady, of Dixon, was born on December 29, 1948, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, a son of William Joseph and Rosemarie Martha (Blank) Brady, Sr. and departed this life at 7:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at his residence near Dixon. He had attained the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 25 days.

Mr. Brady was united in marriage on March 25, 1992, at Las Vegas, Nevada, to Sharon June Speer.

On February 3, 1967, at Los Angeles, California, Mr. Brady entered into active federal service in the Army of the United States and served until September 7, 1969, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Lewis, Washington, at the rank of Sergeant. He was entitled to wear the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bars. A man of excellent character, William's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country during the Vietnam Era.

William was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church, near Dixon, and had trained in the heavy equipment pit at Fort Leonard Wood; was a redi-mix driver; dispatcher and operating engineer for forty-three years. He and his wife were Paint horse breeders for twenty-nine years. William moved from the Dixon area at the age of six and returned to Dixon in 2005 at the age of fifty-six enjoying his land, fishing, and rural life.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Brady include: His wife, Sharon Brady, of the home near Dixon; one daughter, Jamie Lynn Maxwell and husband, Bob, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Fred Brady and wife, Yvonne, Dixon; and James Brady and wife Janet, Simla, Colorado; one sister, Patricia Broadway and husband, Ken, Dayton, Nevada; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one infant son, Brian; his father, William, Sr.; his mother, Rosemarie; and one brother, Gerald.

Interment, with full military honors, will be at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery-Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. William J. Brady are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, in care of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
