William Charles Veasman, of Dixon, was born September 28, 1941, at Springfield, the son of Charles Henry and Dollie Marie (Roam) Veasman, and departed this life at 2:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 15, 2017, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. Bill had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 17 days.
He was preceded by his father Charley, on April 22, 1990 and his mother, Marie, on January 18, 1992.
Bill was a member of the First Christian Church, Dixon, where he was the organist for twenty-five years, and a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, and the Science Teachers of Missouri. He began his teaching career in 1966 with the Dixon R-1 School District leaving in 1968 to become a graduate teacher with the University of Missouri, Columbia, as an assistant director of a language lab. He returned to the Dixon R-1 School System in 1971 where he was a science and biology teacher until his retirement in 2000, serving the Dixon school system for a total twenty-seven years.
Those left to mourn the passing of Bill include: Special cousin, Daisye Howell, Siloam Springs, Arkansas; special friends, Marjorie Adams, Iberia; and Mona Asher, Dixon; and other relatives and friends.
