Obituary

Woodrow Arthur "Woody" Nolan, of Dixon, was born September 2, 1922, in Valley Park, a son of Albert and Anna (Wolfangel) Nolan, and departed this life at 9:43 p.m., on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. Mr. Nolan had attained the age of 93 years, 2 months, and 1 day.

Mr. Nolan was united in marriage on August 28, 1954, at St. Charles, to Martha Ellen Whitaker, who preceded him in death on November 27, 1992. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lester Nolan, Albert Nolan, and Ervin Nolan; and one sister, Clara Bowman.

He was a World War II United States Army Veteran, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4956 Crocker, and a member of the Teamsters Local No. 682. Mr. Nolan was a trucker driver for all his working life. He enjoyed his dog, Pete; and his cat, Whitie.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Nolan include: Eighteen nephews and nieces; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces; special friends, Kim, Toni, and Tonya; and many other friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Nolan at 12 Noon, on Thursday, November 5, 2015, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes at 105 East Third Street with Pastor Helen Winters, Seaton Faith Fellowship Church, officiating.

Interment with full military honors was in the Seaton Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Mr. Nolan were Tim Nolan, Darryl Nolan, Ian Williams, Greg Kaiser, and Alysse Highley.

Memorials are suggested to the Seaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, with envelopes available at the Dixon Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, 105 East Third Street, or in care of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
