Obituary

Zola Kidder Knoblock, of Dixon, was born on September 30, 1922, at Ocala, Florida, a daughter of Eugene Ransom and Grace (Lilly) Kidder, and departed this life at 5:55 p.m., on Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Rolla Presbyterian Manor. Mrs. Knoblock had attained the age of 92 years, 9 months, and 19 days.

Mrs. Knoblock was united in marriage on April 3, 1947, at Ocala, Florida, to Henry Morrison Knoblock Sr., and to this union, five children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on April 10, 1970; her mother, Grace; her father Eugene; one half brother, Bill Kidder; one sister, Marguerite Russell; one granddaughter, Katrina Gonzales; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia DeRyke.

On February 8, 1943, at Ocala, Florida, Zola entered into active federal service in the Navy of the United States and served until November 23, 1945. She attained the rank of Aviation Machinist's Mate Third Class and was a World War II veteran. A woman of excellent character, Zola's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to her country.

She was a member of the Dixon United Methodist Church, the Liesmann Roberts American Legion Post No. 298, Dixon, the Happy Homemakers Club, a Military Widows Support Group, had been a den mother for the Cub Scouts, and a member of the Dixon PTA. Mrs. Knoblock was a volunteer for the Dixon R-1 School District then became a paraprofessional from 1980 until her retirement in 1994. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Knoblock include: Three sons, Henry (Hank) Morrison Knoblock Jr., Key Largo, Florida; Norman Dale Knoblock, St. Louis; and Richard Clay Knoblock, Galveston, Texas; two daughters, Pamella Jean Cryderman, Arizona; and Zola Grace Holsten, Dixon; nine grandchildren, Grace, Samantha, Baxter, Zack, Kyle, Ashley, Sherry, Vicky, and Brian; fifteen great-grandchildren; several great-Great-Grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Knoblock will be at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, morning, July 23, 2015, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes at 105 East Third Street.

Interment with full military honors were in the Main Post Cemetery, Fort Leonard Wood, under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
