Obituary

Fay A. Hutchison, of rural Vienna, was born July 29, 1922, in Maries County, a son of Henry Ashley and Eve (Backues) Hutchison, and departed this life at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, December 22, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Hutchison had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 89 years, 4 months and 24 days.

Mr. Hutchison was united in marriage on January 4, 1947, at Vienna, to the former Miss Lorene O'Halloran, and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 16, 2011; his father on June 15, 1969; his mother on October 1, 1969; and three brothers, Perry Thomas Hutchison on April 9, 1916, Woodrow L. Hutchison on January 20, 1976, and John Pearson Hutchison and March 28, 1990.

Mr. Hutchison had been baptized early in life and was a member of the Lambeth Assembly of God Church, rural Dixon, where he had served as a church greeter and deacon for many years. He was United States Army Veteran of World War II and had been assigned to the 102nd Infantry Division under the command of General George Patton during the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8045, Argyle. Mr. Hutchison's favorite activities were coon hunting, riding his horse and other outdoor activities.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Hutchison include: One son, Vern Hutchison and wife, Mary, Vienna; one daughter, Sharon Hutchison and companion, Jack Wientge, Jr., Vienna; one brother, Brinie Hutchison, Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Josh Lick, Jason Lick, Sarah and Larry Buschmann, Brian and Abbey Auten, and Kate Hutchison; five great-grandchildren, Tristan Lick, Allison Buschmann, Hunter Buschmann, Cooper Auten and Chanie Auten; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Hutchison at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Rev. Larry Martin and Bro. Todd Martin officiating. Music was provided by Shelia Thompson, Anna Bell Franks, Daryl Hollis and Melvina Murphy and the group sang "Jesus Calls", "Will The Circle Be Unbroken", and "There Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down" and a selection of "I'll Fly Away" was also played for the service.

Interment was in the Venus Cemetery, near Vienna, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers for Mr. Hutchison were Sarah Buschmann, Brian Auten, Kate Hutchison, Jason Lick and Josh Lick. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Rowden, Tommy Dean Withers, Shelia Thompson, Becky Vetter, Donley Dake, Tom Stogsdill, Henry Hauck and the late Denise Humphrey.

Memorials are suggested to the Venus Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
